2. Install the Neomagic
video drivers for Microsoft®
Windows® 95.
Click the Start
button, point to
Settings, and then
click Control Panel.
The Control Panel
window appears.
Double-click the
System icon.
The System Properties
window appears.
Click the Device
Manager tab.
Double-click Display
Adapters.
Double-click Standard
PCI Graphics Adapter
(VGA).
Click the Driver
tab and then click the
Update Drive
button.
The Update Device
Driver Wizard
appears.
Insert the disk labeled
Latitude CP Neomagic
Drivers into the
floppy disk drive and
click Next.
Windows 95 searches the
floppy drive and locates
the NEOMAGIC MAGICGRAPH
128XD drive.
Click Finish
to install this driver.
The following error
message appears:
Please insert the
disk labeled "Win95
Neomagic Driver Disk",
and then click OK.
Click OK if you
receive this error.
Windows prompts for a
location to copy files
from.
Type A:\ and
click OK.
Windows 95 copies the
drivers from the disk
and then prompts you to
restart.
Remove the disk from the
floppy disk drive and
then click Yes.
Once the system has
restarted, you may need
to modify your video
resolution.
Click the Start
button, point to
Settings, and then
click Control Panel.
The Control Panel
window appears.
Double-click the
Display icon.
Click the
Settings tab.
Locate the horizontal
slide bar on the screen
underneath Desktop
Area.
Adjust the video
resolution using this
bar according to your
preferences.
NOTE:
If you have a 166 or 200
MHz system, you can set
your desktop area to a
maximum of 800 by 600
pixels (without going
into a virtual display
mode.) If your machine
is 233 MHz, you can set
your desktop area to a
maximum of 1024 by 768
pixels. Screen
resolutions lower than
the maximum will result
in less than optimum
font quality.
You may also need to
change the Color
palette.
NOTE:
If you have applications
that require 256 color,
do not change the
Color Palette.
If you do not, adjust
the
Color Palette
for better image
quality. If you are
running a
Desktop Area
of 800 by 600 pixels,
adjust the
Color Palette
to True Color (24 bit).
If you are running a
desktop area of 1024x768
pixels, adjust the
Color Palette
to High Color (16 bit).
After you have change
the Desktop Area
and Color palette
click OK.
Windows 95 will display
a Compatibility
Warning and
recommend that you
restart your computer.
